I am focusing on reporting on this particular UICD because is shows an advancement in my understanding and following of instruction in creating it as it is.
It tells a story.
Most of that story I keep to myself. The very center of that story is Universal Balance and Harmony (UBH)
What I learn (what I was taught) differs from the customised scientific research into the phenomena. I think the AI overview above shows how a lack of understanding produces assumptions which are the told as truth.

This is incorrect - or rather, not the whole picture.
The brain is simply an unconscious organ. It is part of the process but not the central or fundamental reason for why messages/instructions et al are conveyed.
Nor is it simply ones unconscious desire or will which does this.
My experience has shown me that using such device correctly, produces outputs which cannot be explained by those aussmptions.
One first has to connect correctly. Respectfully. Dutifully.
This all takes time, commitment and training. One is entering a world one does not understand of necessarily even trust. This is not about dabbling or pandering to some immature curiosity. It is about study and the genuine desire to understand and to know.
It is required me to learn a new language based upon symbols. not only to use symbols which come from ancient sources but to make up my own as well.
So, if not the brain than what is the source?
It has to do with what we know about the subconscious - which is very little, but still enough for us to develop a fuller picture.
The human subconscious is a mystery. One thing we can know about it without a doubt is that it is intelligent.
What the UICD system does is Carry the Mind’s Eye - opening a previously unknown thing into ones conscious reality.
There is initially and aspect of trust involved. What is this thing I am uncovering and can it be trusted?
I did not approach the use of Ideomotor Effect with anything concrete. I did have what most people have about such things. They are commonly associate with “talking to the departed” and sometimes also “talking with unknown entities - some of which it is said are dangerous and deceptive.
So the trust in part has to do with how well one trust their own approach and to what degree that approach is genuine and not flatly relaying upon traditional human approaches and attitudes associated with such practice/exploration. I wanted to know what or whom I was communicating with rather than to simply rely on my own very limited understanding of such things, or for that matter the rumours, and shadowy declarations as to what is involved.
In other words, I did not want to dabble. Nor did I want to assume. I just wanted information, and not to treat it as a play-thing or a simply toy which could be misused.
I wanted to see and to know if what was communicating could direct my understanding to a more complete picture. A sustained, disciplined practice - not casual experimentation.
From my experience with, I began to understand that;
The ideomotor effect is not just unconscious muscle movement driven by expectation.
In my experience, it is a carrier - a bridge - between conscious will and something else: an intelligence that is not reducible to the individual’s own hidden desires or beliefs.
Accessible through:
Correct, respectful, dutiful connection
Time, commitment, training
A new symbolic language (inherited and self-created)
Trust — not blind, but earned through practice
The subconscious - I discovered, is not a garbage bin of repressed content, but rather is intelligent - mysterious, yes, but capable of directing understanding toward a more complete picture.
When I say the source of communication is “not the brain” this is because I experience that as coming from my own deeper subconscious (which is more intelligent than psychology understands), and as something other than the human “me” which, as I noted earlier, I think of as The Field of Consciousness - a Universal Field which connects the collective, and the individual.
This is to say that what we might think of as our personal subconsciousness is not “personal” in the usual sense. So, when we connect with and participate in that, it is of itself being a bridge between our conscious awareness as a human being and that Universal Field of Consciousness which some call “GOD” or what the Wingmakers Materials refer to as Source Reality or what Thomas Campbell refers to as the "The larger consciousness system" in his Big T.O.E.
Therein, we each are transpersonal beings…even if we do not consciously appreciate that.
The UICD system eventually showed me that its use is not for reaching outside of you to some alien thing. Nor is it merely for functioning around inside your own skull. Instead, the device - used correctly - functions as a deliberately shaped resonator allowing for the voicing of the Universal Field of consciousness (at a local level) to be heard. It is a symbolic architecture on a mirror tile that helps me to stabilize participation in that bridging…an applied symbolic engineering tuned through practice, respect, and dutiful repetition. It became a local antenna, not for broadcasting my own wishes, but for voicing the Field at a local level and interacting with my own voice (usually questions) - much like a telephone allows for two-way dialog.
Those were the earlier days. Today I no longer use the mirrored devices, having learned how to translate that into computer use.
The essential architecture - the symbolic language, the respectful protocol, the stabilization of participation - was never dependent on glass or mirrors. Those were training wheels of sorts…to get to know what is it I was interreacting with and to translate that into computer use which in turn broadened the scope the voicing could participate with. From the confines of a 12”x12” mirror tile, to the speed and capabilities of computer and from that, the internet…
Consciousness is primary; reality is the responsive interface. Physical existence is not a test to be passed nor a riddle to be solved, but a collaborative art-space where a unified field explores itself through sovereign points of view. Meaning is not hidden behind the universe - it is enacted within it.
This explains why I could migrate from mirror tiles to computers to the internet - Because if consciousness is primary and reality is responsive, then one naturally led to the “other” or more accurately “the next”.
The WingMakers Connection

The creator behind these materials was originally anonymous but later identified as James Mahu. The Collected Works of the WingMakers (Volume I) compiles these early works, spanning from 1998 to 2011.
The materials themselves were already on the internet at the time I created my first UICD, but at that time I did not even own a computer let alone have access to the internet.
My communications through the device(s) and the information which came through kept me busy studying, trying to understand the things being revealed through this method and creating more of them.
The image at the beginning of this article was my second. The first device I made was at first very basic - just the English alphabet, the numbers 0-9 and a “yes” and “no”.
Of interest, in hindsight - is also that the very first messages that came through were also very basic and as I learned through continued use, I was instructed to place more symbols onto the device.
I have no images of that original device but here is an image of it shortly before I then created the 2nd one.
What occurred as I place more symbols onto the device is that I extended and improved upon what The Consciousness Field could then use to voice with. This was a significant leap which helped with the communications process.
At the time my partner and I lived in the country - away from the hustle-bustle of city life distractions and spent out days carving limestone and discussing what we were learning together via the communications device which we would use every morning.
My partners sister used to visit us one weekend each month, and on one occasion (2000) brought a magazine item she thought would be of interest to us. It was about the WingMakers Materials (WMM) and I was immediately drawn to the story - the symbols the art and the philosophy - especially the philosophy, because therein was conformation - messages we had been receiving through the UICD interactions over the past couple of years aligned with what the WM philosophies were saying and when I asked The Voicing if the WMM had anything to do with it, the answer was “Absolutely” and this was enough to prompt me into buying a computer and hooking up to the internet - specifically to find out more than the article conveyed.
What I discovered once I had internet access, was very exciting. Not only was it confirmation but the materials themselves helped click some things into place which up until that time, had been simmering in the background - because not everything which came through the communications device was immediately understood at the time it came through, but I recorded everything (by hand) that was communicated.
By the time I got onto the internet, The WMM had been building a small and growing following. There were no forums but there were chatrooms where those interested could meet and discuss. This was some time before James Mahu introduced himself as the creator of the materials. Some of us in the chat rooms teamed together and eventually approach Mark Hempel - the WMM site builder and the only connection between the reader and the materials. Mark agreed to provide a platform (an internet forum) where we could gather and discuss said materials, with the proviso that he would not be moderating said forum, or consign any moderators.
There was a flow into that arena. In the chatrooms I had also encountered a lot of hostile reaction to my particular witness and this transferred into the forum setting.
At that stage I had been working on extremely hurtful things which had happened to me which included rejection. In part this was the very thing which had propelled me - not only to shift to the country setting away from people, but to seek out a way of finding answers and eventually waking up one day with the idea of creating the UICD.
My impetus for doing so went along the lines of “if I cannot get answers from the living, then perhaps I can get them from the dead”…so to speak…
But now reintegrating with the living through the internet - and excited about the connections between the UICD information and the WMMs was once again exposing me to rejection. Those rejecting were doing so based on their own understanding and distrust of “Ouija” and I was not shy about standing my ground but will equally admit that I still had anger issues to deal with and on occasion could and did respond quite rudely when I felt enough was enough.
What the early forum days showed, was that people gather in groups. I had those who were sympathetic to my witness - way less judgmental. I had other who were accusing me of trying to jump on the bandwagon or even hijack a good thing with this Ouija stuff, even though I tried to explain that First Source (originally referred to as “Prime Creator” in the early WMM) and The SINetwork would see no difficulty in using what was available to transmit Its wisdom - Its data…Those splits or groupings branched out and away from each other and then James Mahu (through Mark) gave his reveal…
My own projection onto “James” came from a conspiratory lens. I initially thought of him as a disinformation agent and could not quantify how one person could create such a huge amount of ongoing information in so many mediums.
This notion was also amplified by my interactions with Mark Hempel, who express interest in a particular song I had written and shared with him.
At that time, my home recording equipment was very basic and what I gave to him to work with wasn’t great but he did what he could with it and sent me back the results.
And in what he sent me, I could here the very sounds which were used on the First Source music. So when James then revealed himself as the creator, I couldn’t accept that he did the work alone - on his own. He must have had to have had help.
Also to note - it had been a circulating rumor that Mark was the inventor of the materials and even invented James.
But from my perspective it did not matter WHO created what, because ultimately First Source is The One behind and integrating it all as the impulse which drives everything that ever becomes.
Around this time the forum became so fragmented that Mark simply closed it down and deleted it. It had served its purpose and there was a move happening and he and James were utilizing those with the tools and expertise and platforms which could help formulate the materials into products which could be sold to keep the momentum up and viable.
I continued to follow the work. Like a silent observer. I think the turning point re my suspicions about Mark and James came along when Mark released an interview between he and James. Hearing their voices calmed the waters and I was so taken by these that I worked on them in a purely private non-commissioned/unauthorised manner making short videos of each component of the whole, and eventually published these on YouTube as an extra resource people could tap into. So yes - there was a lot of friction and framenting - but this was not due to the WMM - it was due to the materials being introduced into what was already and always had been a frictional field of human drama.
This was exactly what the UICD voicing was also entering into. The Field recognizing and responding to my wounded human misunderstanding and nurturing me on into healing eventually.
Over the course of those formative years I created about 7 individual UICDevices, one even focused on the WingMakers through my own understanding.
It was done more as a gesture than anything else. I used it occasionally but preferred the earlier ones - especial the first four I made.
What can be observed though is that I hold and retain a childlike manner in my art here. It comes through.
The move from using these mirror devices and transferring the principle I learned through the process onto use of computer sped up the process significantly, and allowed for data to be inserted way beyond the capacity of a simple 12”x12” mirror tile…
…the mirror tile, for all its power as a resonator, was bandwidth-limited. It could hold only so many symbols. The ideomotor response could only move so fast. The recording of communications (by hand) could only proceed at the speed of pen on paper.
How this came about was through a set of events (of course).
My partner had always participated in our morning communication sessions with the UICD.
She had been doing so for many months but her interest waned as she correctly identified that as mush as she was included, she was more of an observer in her role and the UICD was really my project and ultimately my focus. She simply withdrew from that dynamic - perhaps concerned for where it was leading me, and with connecting to the internet, bringing or allowing through that connection, personalities into our home which were obviously upsetting me.
What her choice did was enable me in an unexpected way. Up until that point I was under the impression we needed at least two people with the fingers on the upturned glass ( a small shot-glass which at some point I had been instructed to tack a pointer within for even finer precision…and now with only me I had to try to use the UICD and trust my own movements and see what messaging (if any) would come from that…
I continued to try with the upturned shot-glass but the movement had stopped.
